The Georgia Association for Primary Health Care, Inc. (GAPHC) was founded as a not-for-profit corporation in 1979 through the cooperative efforts of a broad coalition of primary health care advocates in our state.
Throughout its history, GAPHC has engaged in a strong public advocacy agenda in support of its mission: to improve access to comprehensive primary health care services for all medically underserved Georgians and support the continued development and expansion of community-based health center practice systems throughout the state.

As the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to identify and investigate the spread of H1N1 influenza virus infection in people in a number of states, it is critical that you stay up to daye with the latest clinical guidelines. CDC will notify you by email each time new information is available. Go to H1N1 Flu and enter your email address in the 'Get Email Updates' Box. You will receive an email every time CDC updates the page, which currently includes guidance on case definitions, infection control practices in the healthcare setting, and antiviral recommendatioins taht every health center clinician should have at the ready.
Interim Guidance for Screening for Swine-Origin Influenza A (H1N1) by State and Local Health Departments, Hospitals, and Clinicians in Regions with Few or no Reported Cases of H1N1 for guidance in the case of suspected H1N1 flu infection. Obtain a respiratory swab for S-OIV testing, refrigerate, do not freeze, and contact the state or local health department to facilitate transport and timely diagnosis at a state public health laboratory.
